Vintage Moeller Ship's Inclinometer Polished Bronze Wall Mount Made in USA

  

Would make a great gift for a special occasion or keep for yourself. The maker of this piece is Moeller of Richmond Hill, NY.

An inclinometer is the device used for pointing and measuring the angles of the earth's surface. The inclinometer is also known as a clinometer.

The navigational instrument is made of metal. Nice polished bronze case with a copper look finish on the instrument. Probably refinished sometime after the piece was originally issued. Some loss and minor corrosion to the finish of the case. 1 of the 3 screws that hold the face plate on is still in place.

The glass over the face is intact. The black hand does move when not locked into position by the knob at the 6 o'clock position. Engraved at the bottom of the face is Moeller Instrument Company Richmond Hill, NY. Also has the serial number of 42409 on it. Some minor corrosion spotting to the face.

Not sure of the age of this piece. Not certain if the piece is operational or not.

The Moeller Inclinometer is 10-1/8 across by the back plate. 8.75 across by the face plate. The glass is 7.75 across within the face plate. The instrument is 2-1/16 wide. The two hooks are in place on one side, the eye screws are not there.
