Rare Antique Ace Fire Extinguisher-polished Copper & Brass Early 1900's Empty

  

For your consideration, this is an extremely rare Midwest antique. A Detroit ACE Chemical Company gravity fire extinguisher. The base brass embossed plate specifically reads "ACE CHEMICAL COMPANY, DETROIT, MI". Upon extensive research online, no information concerning this extinguisher or ACE Chemical Co.

Could be found, thisis a real piece of history. If you collect fire fighting memorabilia, Detroit and Midwest history, or Steampunk, this one is a must have. It is a 2-1/2 Gallon, bottom plate says it had been U.

Inspected, it is an A-1 Classification and extinguisher #C-713772. I collect and clean these antiques and this is the only one of its type that I have run across. Do not miss this one. First, this extinguisher is empty. Second, this is an "antique" and with that comes evidence that it is over 100 YEARS OLD. I have worked on it for many hoursto make it shine as it appears in the photographs and have spray coated it with MOHAWK anti tarnish Brass Lacquer clear coat. The photographs tell the true story on the condition of this extinguisher. There are a few small scratches and a few dings & dents but the bronze cap in in good shape, the hose is good, therivets are in great shape, the brass embossed plates are in good shape and shine, i believe it holds its character patina quite well!
