A Set of Antique 19th Century Solid HEAVY Brass Ball. This is a nice set of 19th Century Victorian andirons.
The brass ball finials are at least 1/8 thick and weigh 1 lb 4 oz each. They have been machine polished but still have the original little nicks and rubs from age. The log holders (billets) are obviously hand forged. There are no markings on them, which is typical for hand forged.
These have the standard baluster shape over the cabriole legs. The brass ball finial has an approximate diameter of 2 3/4" and as mentioned is at least 1/8" thick. Overall length is 20 1/2 long.The log holder portion of the billet is 14" The height is 14 1/2". The width of the feet on the bottom is 8.
